Cute kiddos

Last week Jason's sister Serena, her husband Kyle and their 2 boys Ashton - 7 and Ethan - 5 came over for dinner and we watched Mr. Poppers Penguins. While I was cooking I noticed that Ashton was in our "storage room" - a fancy word for the room we throw anything we aren't using at the time or don't know what to do with - I went and checked because I have some of the things organized in there - like some baby clothes and swing, etc that is going to Serena and Kyle's new baby - and I wanted to make sure it didn't get spread around. When I went in he told me that he wouldn't touch that stuff. He was just making his office.
Uh yeah - that's pretty adorable. He had Noah's play phone in a different area too.

Then yesterday we went over to their house so Serena could cut Jason's hair and Ethan had colored this picture for Jason.

Serena sometimes calls Jason, JR - his middle name is Roger - so Ethan told me that he was writing to JR.

How cute is that? Jar. I love it.

In other news, Serena is being induced at midnight Saturday morning so we should be able to finally see little Issac on Saturday. I'm so excited. We are keeping the boys on Friday night and they are ultra excited about it.

Now on to a more pressing issue.
The sweet baby of a family we know was born with only half his heart developed. He has had 2 successful open heart surgeries but has now caught an infection. He isn't doing well. He has Acute Respitory Distress Syndrome and his lungs aren't healing due to the damage from the MRSA. His family is organizing a day of prayer for him on Friday (June 22). Please keep sweet little Johnny and his family in your prayers.

Growing up

My baby boy is growing up. I love to see all of the changes he makes as he grows. I love to see him learning new things.

He has learned to duck as he pushes his toy under his high chair. He pushes that toy everywhere and even runs with it. I'm convinced when he finally starts walking on his own he will go from walking to running in a day.

He loves his old bouncer seat. He kept crawling off into the room it was in to crawl into it and turn the vibration on and off so I finally pulled it out into the living room. He's watching Elmocize. He loves it.

While we were at the Cardinal game (I'll post on that later) Jason's sister Serena took Noah and her boys to a children's museum to do a Father's Day craft. Thanks Serena.

Happy Father's Day from Noah!

On Sundays Noah usually misses his morning nap. It's very hard to get him to sleep at church. This Sunday he kept trying to crawl off and get into everything and would scream...many times in all 3 meetings...I knew he was tired but seconds after starting the drive home his eyes were rolling and head nodding. This picture was taken just a few minutes after we left. Poor tired boy.....3 more months until nursery (not that it will go smoothly.)

Last night I was looking for Tessa before I headed to bed and I couldn't find her. Then I noticed Noah's door was open so I went in to find this.

So sweet. Protecting her buddy.

They are good buddies and will be even better buddies once Noah gets a little older and Tessa doesn't have to be on guard so much. :)

Noah has started walking while only holding onto one of my hands now. I'm so excited. He really wants both hands but will do it one handed every once and awhile.

He also has started trying to climb. He's been doing that for a few days. He hasn't been able to get up on anything but this morning I was sitting on the futon folding laundry and all of a sudden I noticed Noah up on the futon with me. He was SO proud of himself. He did it a few more times. It's a little lower then other things and he can grab the material to help pull himself up. I am excited about this too although I know it's going to cause a whole new set of problems.

Did I ever tell you that Jason and I met at Institute? No? Well we did. So several months ago we had the missionaries from church over and they asked how we met. So Jason tells them (by mistake) that we met at the Institution.......We still joke about that one. Hilarious!

Noah was in the paper today! Well the back of him was. This was while they were making the handprint craft. My nephew Ashton -7, my brother-in-law's sister Vanessa, my sister-in-law Serena, Noah, and my nephew Ethan -5.

Win win

Noah has learned to open the dog food container. That combined with the fact that he can't leave Tessa's water or food alone we usually have it up off the ground unless Tessa wants it. I forgot to put it away.

I am sitting here watching him as he opened the container. Usually I would go stop him but then I noticed that Tessa's water bowl is thankfully empty at the moment and he is picking out one piece of food and then putting it in her bowl.

Keeping him busy and helping to feed the dog.

Win win!!

In other news we are going to our Cardinals game today. It is supposed to be in the 90s with a chance of rain. Humidity's high too.......oh well. I love the Cardinals! So again I say,

Win win!!
I know....that was kind of lame. :)

I've just stopped him from eating a few pieces of food and now he is pushing the dog food container around the kitchen so I am off to occupy my boy. He did try to put the lid back on. It's really just sitting in the container but he's my sweet little helper.

Tribute to a good friend

Okay this is not a good picture (Jason is sick in this picture taken in January 2011) but it's the only one I can find that has Duke in it. Duke is Jason's mom and step-dad's dog and our dog Tessa's very best friend. It could have been months since they last played together and yet if we would ask Tessa, "Do you want to go see Duke?" she would cock her head and then run around the house all excited. Duke was a very loving and gentle dog and we all loved him. Today we had to say goodbye. He died today of cancer that nobody knew he had. I won't go into the details of the day but he will surely be missed. I came home and told Tessa (yes I knew she wouldn't know what I was talking about - I'm not crazy) :) that I was sorry but her best friend Duke had died and that someday they will play again in heaven. I cried when I told her that. She didn't understand it but it only felt right to tell her.
Goodbye Duke. We love you!

Noah the camera man

The other day I pushed record on the camcorder on my phone and handed it to Noah. He loves my phone. So he was looking at it and noticed that he was seeing on the screen things around the room and he got so excited. I accidentally erased the first video he took which is a shame because he kept laughing so hard. Here are his videos. He's a boy of many talents. :)
