Read on

If you haven't read these books then I recommend you do. Gail Carson Levine is a good, imaginative author. I liked Ella Enchanted a little bit more than The Two Princesses of Bamarre but they were both really good. So, I am sharing the news with you in hopes that you read and enjoy these books. I'll have to look for more books written by her. If you've read any and liked them then let me know.

Okay, here goes... I loved both of those (of course!) Ella Enchanted is probably my favorite by her.

Fairest is excellent. Love it. Ever is similar in the writing, but I didn't like it quite as much. Still pretty good.

Dave at Night is a completely different kind of story, and I wasn't crazy about it.

The Wish was a different style also, but was enjoyable. Most of her books are written for young teens... and this one is more obvious about that.

Also good are the Princess Tales, which include the short books:
The Fairy's Mistake
The Princess Test
Princess Sonora and the Long Sleep
Cinderellis and the Glass Hill
The Fairy's Return
For Biddle's Sake

Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg and Fairy Haven and the Quest for the Wand are books about TinkerBell and the other fairies of Neverland. They're for a bit younger kids (maybe ten-ish?), but still worth reading.

And for really young kids, she has a picture book called Betsy Who Cried Wolf. Zach and I both give it two thumbs up.

I think the only other one is one called Writing Magic: Creating Stories That Fly, which I haven't read yet.

If you like Gail Carson Levine, I'd also suggest Shannon Hale and Jessica Day George.

And there you have it. In case you were wondering. :)

I've seen the movie, Ella Enchanted but haven't read the book. Thanks for the suggestions. I've heard that Shannon Hale's books are really good. She's written The Princess Academy which is a Newbery Honor book and also Book of a Thousand Days (neither of which I have read, but have had recommended to me).
Have you heard of the website Goodreads.com? If not, you should check it out! You can list all the books you have read and then get suggestions from friends.
