Noah Noah Noah

Noah sure is growing up. I went with Serena and her little family a week ago to her 4D ultrasound and got to see sweet little Issac (?). He was adorable. While I was gone this is the video Jason sent me. Noah started pushing his toy while walking on his knees and then soon after was walking and pushing it. Way to go Noah.

Noah has also started to stand on his own more often. He doesn't usually last very long but he is learning and is so proud of himself. We are too.
While I still see the baby in him, I am starting to see more and more of the toddler Noah coming out. I'm so happy to see the new things he learns and although it makes me miss the tiny baby Noah....it makes me love the Noah he is even more. If that makes sense.
 So proud.
The other day I had his laundry basket in the living room. I hadn't put it back in his room yet after doing laundry. He found it and when I turned around this is what I saw. :) Don't worry. It's mesh. He got stuck in there and was trying to get out....it was funny to see him try to get out. I know, I know. Poor kid's mom taking pictures while he's stuck in a laundry basket.
I don't think he cared too much. :)
Noah got this toy for his birthday from Jason's Grandma. At first he was scared to get on it but now he loves it. He can't move it himself yet but he likes to be pushed around on it.
Going back and forth between Jason and I.
Beep Beep
We are all doing pretty well. Noah's been sleeping through the night and has started taking better naps in the day. Usually. Thank goodness!
He loves to hold his socks. If he finds one he'll carry it around and I give him one when he takes a nap or goes to bed. He has preferences in which socks he likes to hold and he has to hold it the right way. When I put him in the crib and give him a sock he puts it down and then turns it so he is holding it "right". I love it. Security socks I guess. When he is down for the night and I am walking through the house and see random baby socks on the floor...I smile. I sure love that kid.

How do you eat an Oreo?

Noah got to eat his first official Oreo the other day.

I think it's safe to assume that he liked it. :)

Easter

A little late then never. Easter. I borrowed my sister-in-law Serena's camera and cable so I could download my pictures onto our laptop. We had a good Easter. Noah got to see what the Easter Bunny left him. He liked it. Then we went to church. The First Presidency asked that people bear their testimonies on the Savior and that was a good idea. I spent all of Sacrament Meeting pondering how grateful I am to Him and thinking about all He has done for me in my life.

Noah enjoying his Easter Basket.
His favorite thing was the fruit snacks but he really loved taking everything out and then playing with the Easter grass. I had to take it away at that point. Didn't want Easter ruined by him puking up Easter grass. :)

After church we went to Jason's grandma's house and had lunch with the family. We had such a good time being together. After lunch we headed outside for an Easter egg hunt.
Noah finding an egg with the help of Daddy. (He didn't really care which surprised me because he has been playing with the plastic Easter eggs for months - I think he was tired.)
Family group shot.
Noah and Jason - Noah has discovered the joy of candy. He doesn't get much but he now knows how good it is. Here he is eating a (not too) sour gummy worm from the egg he found.
Noah and me - it's so hard to get that kid to look at the camera. :)
The guys were having a chin up contest on the clothesline pole so we had to get Noah in on the action.
I think he won.
I was seriously so excited that it was Noah's first repeat holiday. After the egg hunt we watched the other kids dye eggs. Well I did while Noah had meltdowns because he had missed his nap. So we headed home and Noah got to have a little nap. Then we went on a walk with many family members. It was such a beautiful day and we had such a wonderful holiday.

The last few days

I downloaded a few pictures from my phone (still no cable for my camera) so I thought I would shock you all.....or anyone still reading....by posting again. I know....it boggles the mind.

Here is a picture of Noah yesterday as we were getting ready to go to lunch with some family. I was backing out of the driveway and saw him looking so cute and had to stop the car and snap a picture. His carseat is now front facing and he likes it. The first time we put him in there like that he just kept smiling. He looks so much bigger and smaller at the same time facing this way.
This isn't a great picture but I like those dangly little legs. It was his first time at the park. When we first put him in the swing he wasn't too sure about it but then we pushed it and he thought it might be kind of awesome. His little legs kept kicking away.
Getting the hang of it.
We went to Mt. Vernon today to get Jason some new glasses. Don't you like them? :) Ok so he didn't pick those. I love Noah's face. Even he knew they were a little too silly.

Noah's 1st Birthday

Noah turned 1 on Tuesday March 20th. I can't believe it has been a year since our sweet little guy was born. My sister Laura came after church on Sunday and stayed with us until Tuesday night and my parents came on Monday and stayed until Thursday morning. We had such a good time having family stay with us. Amy and the kids were going to come but the twins got the flu and they decided not to share. The night before his birthday the Sister Missionaries came to dinner and we had some BBQ. They even brought Noah a present which he loves.

Noah with Sister Lowe and Sister Grover. We love those Sisters. :)
Noah "talking" with Grandpa Barnard on his birthday.
I dumped Noah's cake out of the pan and this is how it looked. Kind of cracks me up. Looks like a happy little frog or something.
Here are the cakes I made for Noah's birthday. It is the caterpillar from the beginning of the Baby Einstein videos.
Party time!
I have learned my lesson. Next birthday we won't be making dinner for everyone. :) It turned out really good but the day was insanely busy. I felt like I was rushing around all day and only got everything done because of the help Laura and my mom gave. Thank you both of you for your help. I really appreciate it. Most of Jason's family was able to come to the party and we had a good time. I'm glad we have such wonderful family.
This picture seriously cracks me up. He's looking at the cake as if to say, "What the heck are they going to do to me now?"
Trying to figure it out. Notice his little ankles crossed. He has them crossed most of the time and I love it.
He did not want the cake. Nor did he want me to continue to try to get him to eat the cake. :)
Sitting on Daddy's lap was better. I gave him a fork and he smashed the cake and fed Jason (his new favorite game).
The best shot I could get of me and my best little guy. He did not want to look at the camera.
I am so grateful to have him in my life. He seriously amazes me everyday and I love him so very much. He brings such joy to my life.
We went to the doctor a few days after his birthday and had his 1 year checkup.
weight - 22 lbs 8 oz
height - 31"
We love you, Noah!!

St. Louis Temple

Jason and I were able to go to the temple this past Tuesday and do a session. I am ashamed to admit we haven't been in a long time (years). We were so glad to be able to go and so thankful to my sister Laura for watching Noah. It was hard for me to leave him but it's also so important to go to the temple. We will be trying to go once a month. It was also nice to have time with just Jason and I. It doesn't happen very often (barely ever) and I know that's important too. I didn't take this picture. I found it on a site that has free temple wallpaper pictures and this one is so pretty. I also realized just how important it is to go to the temple as often as we can. We keep hearing we need to go and keep attendance up since the Kansas City temple will be dedicated soon and so many people will then attend that temple. We went to a 2:00 p.m. session on a Tuesday and there were only 2 women and 4 men at the session and that was including Jason and I. I was shocked because there had always been many people there when I attended. I hope we can all start attending more often. Such a beautiful place and what a wonderful spirit it brings to our lives. I hope to be able to attend sometime when my parents are working. That would be so fun. I didn't even think to take a picture of us outside the temple. I was just anxious to get back to Noah and try as hard as we could to miss rush hour traffic since it was 4:00. We lucked out. :)
