Drive In

Yesterday Jason and I experienced our first drive in movie. We weren't sure if we would like it or not. The day was so hot and humid. After the sun went down the temperature cooled off so it wasn't too bad. The only real problem was the mosquitos. I've got quite a few bites. Just writing about them makes me itch. It was pretty neat to go to the drive in though. Hopefully we won't end it with West Nile or anything. :) On our way there Jason said about the car in front of us "I bet they are going to the drive in." So I replied, "Or maybe they're just drivin'" Get it?? Drive in/drivin'. Oh yeah I'm good. Anyway, we saw The Dark Knight. Jason had already seen it but would watch it everyday if he could. I'm fine with waiting until it comes on video to watch it again. It was pretty good though. It was really well done. We should have brought our camera to document the day. Oh - it's still broken but aparantly only the screen is broken. It still works if you look through the view finder although you can't see what the picture looks like. At least it's still usable until we get another one someday. As a side note - the second house we were considering was the one that someone was interested in. The house is now contracted, so that one is off the market.

Memory Tag

Two of my favorite people have this on their blog so I thought I would join in. Here are the rules.

1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Join the fun!

To buy or not to buy....

Jason and I are trying to decide whether to buy a house or not. These are two of them that we both really like. Here they are.

House #1
Dining Room

Kitchen

Family Room
Living Room

House #2 Kitchen
Family Room
Living Room

Leave us a comment and let me know what you think of these houses. We've been taking our time but now we hear someone else is interested in one of them so we need to decide which house to put an offer on.........and whether or not to buy. Yikes it's difficult being adults. :)

Germy

So it's been awhile. That can be blamed on several different things. I'd like to overlook the most obvious of them all (that ugly, but oh so acurate word called laziness that seems to pop up much to often). Besides that Jason and I have been having our share of illness and other aches and pains. First I woke up a few weeks ago with a bad pain in my shoulder and neck. It got worse for the next few days until it got really bad and started to spasm. Of course it was a Saturday so doctors offices were closed. I ended up having to go to the emergency room. I was loaded up with pain pills and muscle relaxers that made me tired, dizzy, and completly loopy. Then Jason ended up with the stomach flu. I thought I missed it but a little over a week later I ended up with it. Now my eyelid is swollen. My poor dad has shingles though so I guess we don't have much to complain about. In fact I guess Dad wins the "Bug Sandwich" award. So the moral of the story is that here is another blog for you to read even if it is full of germs. :) The good news is Jason's mom said she would make Banana Pudding tonight. Mmmm.

Birthday Tribute

This picture makes me laugh so hard.

On Monday Jason and I went to Fairview Heights and had lunch at Lotawata Creek with my sister Amy and her son Zach, who is almost 7. Let me just tell you that the bread there is to die for. Seriously too delicious for their own good....well definatly my own good. :) They bring it to you when you sit down. I think I must have some of that bread right now actually. It's a good thing we live an hour and 15 minutes away from that evil thing called delicious bread. Then we went to St. Louis to see my sister Karen and her husband Michael (not to be confused with Amy's husband Michael or my brother Michael). It happened there at their apartment. Our new (Christmas) digital camera broke. It's so sad. We did see "Get Smart" though and it is hilarious. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD. The only bad part of the day (besides destroying our beloved camera) was I didn't get to see my sister Laura (again not to be confused with my brother Michael's wife, Laura - are you keeping up?) who I haven't seen in awhile now. Today is Jason's birthday. Yahoo! It's been an exciting day so far. More fun then he'll know what to do with. In fact this day might just ruin all other days for him. So far we have both worked, watched an episode of Lost, and sat around his mom's on the computers waiting for people to get home. Oh, yeah. I sure know how to spoil my husband. :) We are going to play games though and this just happens to be one of Jason's all time favorite things to do. I lovingly refer to him as the game nazi sometimes. Although, he isn't the only one in his family that deserves the title. His sister Serena ranks high and his sister Liz sometimes makes it up there. Got to love the game nazis. :) There is also a BBQ about to be had. Oh yeah - bring on the burgers. There just might be a happy dance on the horizon. To wrap up this delightful blog I just have to tell my sweet husband on the day of his birth - Happy Birthday Baby! I love you so much! - Now maybe I'll stop blogging and start paying attention to the birthday boy. :)

Weepy confessions

I absolutely love the movie, "Meet the Robinsons". The first time I watched it I thought it was good but wierd.....until the end. I won't give away the ending for those of you who haven't seen it yet but the very last scene changed my opinion of the movie and it made me love the movie so much. The ending just makes me so happy and as soon as the song in the scene starts playing I tear up. In fact, I tear up EVERYTIME I hear the song on the radio (which is "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas). So here I was today at work when the song comes on the radio. Luckily I was in the office working on the books so nobody actually saw me, but it happens every single time I hear it. I could just see Andrea (the girl I was working with) walk into the office and there I'd be all teary eyed. She probably wouldn't have been surprised. Of course this is nothing to what I used to do when I watched the movie, "A Little Princess". I used to bawl hysterically when I watched that movie. My family rightfully made fun of me for this because even when I tried to explain why the movie made me cry.....I would cry. I haven't watched the movie in a long time but it did get to the point where I would cry but not so forcefully. When Jason and I watch a movie together and there is a scene he thinks I might cry at he'll always turn to look at me. I find this really annoying but funny at the same time. If I am crying I don't want him to look at me because it's embarrasing but if I'm not it's pretty funny to me when he looks over. I just say, "I'm not crying Jason". Sometimes he has to try really hard not to look at me when he knows I'm crying and that is hilarious. I think it's safe to say that I cry.

"The Bug Sandwich"

If you'll notice, it's been several days (scratch that and replace it with weeks) since I've written last. If you think that's bad then you could also note that I haven't even given anyone this address. I've decided to reform and send our little blog address to you. This month has been relatively boring unless you count poor Jason's tooth incident. This earns him the much coveted "Bug Sandwich" award. It's an old title but a new award by the way and not really coveted....although it will be now I'm sure. :) It originated in my teen years where I thought everything bad happened to me and me alone. We were on a family trip and at lunchtime my mom brought out the sandwiches she had made and when I opened my ziplock bag I noticed a dead bug on my bread that had apparantly made it's way into my baggie. I then said, in complete seriousness, "I always get the bug sandwich". This has been a family joke since then. In fact my parents blew a tire on their way home from Tennessee recently and told me they thought of me and how they got the bug sandwich. Anyway back to Jason. Several years ago he broke off half of his front tooth at the city pool and had to have partial fake tooth put on. It fell off recently and he had to go a week looking like a complete hick or as his friends at work called him, Chip from "Beauty and the Beast". We tried making a dentist appointment but nobody could get him in until at least the end of July. Finally we made a quick trip to my parents in Missouri for a one nighter to get his tooth fixed by my sister's father-in-law (and a family friend)who is a dentist. What a wonderful man he is. Jason is now again the owner of two front teeth. This I am grateful for teeth and for dentists who care. :)
